Five of the six members of the Albany City Council were on hand Monday to be sworn into their duty as council members. In the photo below, new members, Sarah Wilson-Browning and Joe Stockton took the oath as well as three members, Steve Lawson, Tonya Thrasher and Gene Ferrill, who are returning members of the council, shown above. All members were sworn in by Albany Mayor Lyle Pierce. Reed Sloan was also sworn in later Monday night, as shown in the left photo.
