, 74, of Burkesville (Kettle) passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, Kentucky.
He was the son of Carson Lee “Red” and Lottie Lee Stalcup Watson. He was a member of the Church of Christ, serving as Minister for the Hickory Grove congregation for over 14 years.
He was a graduate of the Cumberland County High School class of 1964, attained a Bachelors, Masters, and Rank I all from Western Kentucky University, was a teacher in the Cumberland County School system for over 30 years, a former girls and boys basketball coach, golf coach and transportation director. He loved music and was a good musician.
He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law and mother-in-law, W.B. and Grace Sharp Wyatt.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Karen Wyatt)Watson of Burkesville; children, Elizabeth Ann “Beth” Watson of Burkesville, Brad Douglas (Summer) Watson of Glasgow, Kentucky; sister, Mary Ellen Watson of Tennessee; grandchildren, William Blaine Watson, Brynn Livia Watson and Lillian Grace “Lily” Dishman.
The funeral was conducted on Sunday, January 3, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home with Bro. Raymond Castillo and Bro. Keith Thompson officiating. Burial was in the Christian Chapel Cemetery in Cumberland County Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate contributions to The WE CARE organization of Cumberland County or The Tom Watson Memorial Scholarship fund, (c/o Citizens Bank of Cumberland County).
