The Med Center – Albany sent this human interest development to the Clinton County News this week regarding a Clinton County patient there, Ms. Lera Sue Johnson, who has terminal cancer and also now has COVID-19.

A long-time employee at the Clinton County Tyson chicken processing plant, she loves to go to work and her work family is her family. Her goal was that she wanted to live long enough to work at Tyson for 20 years.

Two weeks ago, she met that goal and when Tyson planned to distribute her employee recognition last week, Amy Claborn collaborated with Tyson’s Human Resources Team to bring the award and flowers for Lera Sue to the hospital.

Claborn also worked to have a Face Time call so that the Tyson team could be available via video when she received the award and flowers.

Kudos to the staff at The Med Center – Albany and the Tyson family for making the day special for Lera Sue Johnson.

In the photo above, Johnson is shown with her 20 year award from Tyson, and the flowers she was presented for her achievement.
