The Clinton County Bulldogs moved to 7-0 on the year with a win against Campbellsville by a final score of 47-38.
Clinton County started off the game in a slump, as the Dawgs had trouble getting the ball in the hoop.
Clinton County’s Nick Brown scored the first basket of the game 10 seconds into the first quarter.
Campbellsville answered with a goal to tie the score at 2-2, but baskets by Chase Stines and Nick Delk gave the Dawgs a four point lead, 6-2.
The Eagles then put together an 8-0 run to take a four point lead with 2:32 remaining in the period.
The Dawgs then made a 6-2 run to finish the quarter with a tied score, 12-12.
During the second quarter Adam Hay made a basket to give the Dawgs a two point lead, but Campbellsville hit a three pointer for the one point edge, 15-14.
Hay again put up a basket to regain the lead and Bryson Cross extended the lead with a field goal, 18-15.
Campbellsville hit two free throws to cut the lead to one, but a basket by Delk gave the Dawgs a three point lead with one minute remaining before the half.
Campbellsville hit a basket with 50 seconds left in the first half for a 20-19 score.
During the third quarter, Delk went into another world as he put in basket after basket. Delk alone scored all of Clinton County’s points during the third quarter, giving him 14 for the period, including two of the only three-pointers Clinton County recorded for the game.
The Dawgs finished the quarter only allowing Campbellsville to score seven points for a 34-27 lead at the end of three.
Clinton County maintained control in the fourth quarter, only allowing Campbellsville to get to within four points, 39-35 with three minutes left.
The final minutes of the game saw Clinton County use the clock to its advantage.
Delk scored five points in the final 3:25 and Cross had two layups to seal the deal for the Dawgs as Clinton County picked up its seventh win of the season for a 7-0 record, 47-35

Clinton County will be back in action on Friday night at The Castle for the second game of a girls’/boys’ double header starting at 6 p.m. and will be back at home on Saturday to host Jackson County.
Saturday’s game will be the third of a freshmen/junior varsity/varsity game, with the varsity game tipping off around 2:30 p.m.
