Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron has reported the following arrest activity during the past week:
According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a traffic stop has led to the arrest of two Pulaski County residents on drug trafficking and drug possession charges.
At 1:45 am on January 28, 2021 Deputies Brad Tucker and Derek Dennis conducted the traffic stop on Kentucky Highway 90 for a traffic violation.
Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from it. Both deputies searched the vehicle and seized methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana, a handgun, drug paraphernalia items associated with drug trafficking.
Cody Richardson, of Burnside, Ky., was charged and arrested for trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (less than 2 grams of methamphetamine), trafficking in a controlled substance-1st offense (heroin), possession of marijuana and for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Cody Carrender, of Somerset, Ky., was charged and arrested for possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine)(enhancement), possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (heroin) (enhancement), possession of drug paraphernalia, operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license and for traffic violations.
Both Richardson and Carrender were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
Sheriff Catron also reports the following arrests.
Casey Coyle, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine) and for possession of drug paraphernalia. Coyle was also arrested on a Kentucky Parole Board Mandatory Reentry Supervision Violation Warrant of Arrest on the underlying charges of absconding parole supervision, failure to cooperate with Parole Officer, use of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), use of a controlled substance (marijuana) use of a controlled substance, failure to report to parole officer as directed and for providing false information to parole officer.
Charles T. Young, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance-2nd degree (drug unspecified) and for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Young was also arrested on two Wayne County District Court Warrants of Arrest for failure to appear for Pre-Trial Conferences on the underlying charges of no operator’s license, operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, a traffic violation and for two counts of failure to appear.
Coyle and Young were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
Charles E. Reynolds, Jr., of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and for traffic violations.
Doug R. Atkinson, Sr., of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license and for traffic violations.
Jacob Kidd, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for alcohol intoxication in a public place.
Kelvin J. Rodriguez Rivera, of Albany, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County District Court warrant of Arrest for failure to appear on the underlying charges of public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol) and for assault-4th degree.
Reynolds, Atkinson and Kidd were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center. Rodriguez Rivera was released from custody after posting a bond at the Wayne County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office.
In other law enforcement action, Janet L. Clark, of Monticello, Ky., was issued a Wayne County District Court Criminal Summons on the underlying charge of public intoxication–controlled substance (excludes alcohol. Clark was given a court date to appear in Wayne County District Court.
On January 29, 2021 at 10:59 p.m., deputies Derek Dennis and Jerry Meadows conducted a traffic stop on a wrecker type vehicle for traffic violations on Kentucky Highway 3106.
Upon approaching the vehicle, Deputy Dennis recognized the driver as having a Kentucky Parole Board Mandatory Reentry Supervision Violation Warrant.
While searching the driver, a syringe was found in his pocket. After a free air sniff search of the vehicle and an alert by Deputy K-9 Unit Dunya, a search warrant was obtained for the vehicle. The search warrant resulted in approximately 28 grams of methamphetamine, drug trafficking drug paraphernalia and $569.00 in cash being seized.
Deputy Dennis charged and arrested Wesley Brumley, of Albany, Ky., for trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (greater than or equal to two grams of methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license and for traffic violations. Brumley was also arrested on the Kentucky Parole Board Mandatory Reentry Supervision Violation Warrant of Arrest for absconding parole supervision, failure to report to parole officer as directed and on a Clinton County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear for arraignment on the underlying charges of driving on a driving under the influence suspended operator’s license, failure of owner to maintain required insurance and a traffic violation.
Brumley was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
In other law enforcement action by the sheriff’s office the following were arrested.
John A. Locker, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence (aggravating circumstances), leaving the scene of an accident, criminal mischief-2nd degree and for careless driving.
Trenton R. Bell, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol) and for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Destinee Duncan, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for public intoxication-controlled substance (excluded alcohol).
Sandra Daniels, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on two Wayne County Circuit Court Warrants of Arrest for Drug Court Violation on the underlying charges of trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (less than two grams of methamphetamine), trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (less than 10 drugs unspecified) and for two counts of non-payment of court costs, fees or fines.
Locker, Bell, Duncan and Daniels were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
Gary Ard, of Monticello, Ky., was served with a Wayne County District Court Criminal Summons for alcohol intoxication in a public place, terroristic threatening-3rd degree and for disorderly conduct-2nd degree. Ard was given a court date to appear.
