Lady Dawgs win two games last week

The Clinton County Lady Bulldogs finished last week 2-0 after defeating Lynn Camp on Friday and Allen County/Scottsville on Saturday.

Clinton County hosted Allen County/Scottsville on Saturday at noon for the second of two games scheduled for the week.

During the first quarter, Allen County/Scottsville grabbed the first basket of the game for a quick 2-0 lead.

Braylee Mann hit a field goal at the 7:00 mark to tie the score at two.

The score went back and forth for several minutes and at the 2:45 mark, with the score tied at eight all, Clinton County put together an 8-2 run to finish the quarter with a 16-10 lead.

Allen County cut the lead to five point early in the second quarter, but a three point play by Mann put the Lady Dawgs up by eight with 6:11 on the clock before halftime.

Allen County hit a field goal at the 5:50 mark to cut the lead to six points, 20-14, then Clinton County went on a 9-2 run to take a 13 point lead with 1:24 on the clock, 29-16.

Allen County added a field goal and a free throw just before halftime to trail the Lady Dawgs by 10, 29-19.

Clinton County continued to dominate during the third quarter.

The Lady Bulldogs led by as much as 17 points, 43-26, and finished the quarter with a nine point lead, 46-37.

Allen County’s 11-3 run to end the third continued to the fourth quarter with a 7-2 run to trail by four points, 48-44, with 4:25 on the clock.

Landree Moons hit a field goal at the 3:45 mark to put the Lady Dawgs back up by six points, 50-44, but a field goal by the Lady Patriots cut the lead back to four, 50-46.

Mann added a field goal at the 2:42 mark, but a three pointer and a field goal saw Allen County get to within one point, 52-51 with 1:26 on the clock.

With 15 seconds remaining, Moons hit a field goal to give the Lady Dawgs a three point lead, 54-51. Allen County missed two shots in the closing seconds and time ran out, giving Clinton County the win, 54-51.

The Lady Dawgs played host to Lynn Camp on Friday and started the game with an 11-0 run.

Lynn Camp didn’t score until the 4:02 mark, 11-2, but a three pointer by Sutton put the Lady Dawgs up 14-2.

The Lady Wildcats put together a 10-2 run to cut the lead to four points, but a three pointer by Young to end the quarter put the Lady Dawgs up by nine, 21-12.

The Lady Dawgs continued to add points to the board as Clinton County put together a 10-0 run to take a 31-12 lead.

Lynn Camp added a three pointer at the 5:38 mark, but Clinton County answered with a 9-0 run, 40-15.

Lynn Camp finished the quarter with a 7-0 run, for a 40-22 halftime score in favor of the Lady Dawgs.

During the third quarter, Clinton County continued to put points on the board, but Lynn Camp did outscore the Lady Dawgs 11-10 in the eight minute period. By the end of the third quarter, Clinton County led, 50-33.

Lynn Camp also outscored the Lady Dawgs in the fourth quarter by putting up 22 points against Clinton County’s 20.

The damage had already been done as Clinton County rolled to victory, 70-55.

Clinton County was back in action on Tuesday (too late for press deadline) as they traveled to Glasgow. The Lady Dawgs will be at home on Thursday to host Edmonson County in a junior varsity/varsity game.

Landree Moons went up for a shot during the first half against Allen County/Scottsville on Saturday. The Lady Dawgs won the game, 54-51. Moons finished with 20 points.

Braylee Mann drove the lane for a layup against Allen County/Scottsville on Saturday. Mann finished the game with 13 points. The Lady Dawgs improved to 9-5 on the year.
