The trial of a Monroe County man accused of murder was held here November 14-19.
Kenneth Gregory Hodges, 54, of Gamaliel, was originally to have been tried in Monroe County, but the location of the trial was changed after Hodges’ attorney, Ken Garrett, of Glasgow, filed a July 2010 motion in Monroe Circuit Court asking for a change of venue.
Hodges was arrested on April 21, 2008 and charged with the murder of Randall E. Page, 76, of Tompkinsville. Hodges was indicted by a Monroe County grand jury in May 2008. He was accused of stabbing Page to death.
The Cumberland County jury found Hodges guilty of reckless homicide and persistent felony offender-second degree. The jury recommended a sentence of five years and enhanced that to 10 years for being a persistent felony offender.
Final sentencing will be held January 19, 2012.
