The Clinton County Lady Dawgs fell to 12-7 on the year with a loss in its final game of the regular season against Monroe County, 48-43.
The Lady Dawgs started the game in control as Clinton County reached a 13-4 lead by the end of the first, with four points from Braylee Mann, six points from Landree Moons and a three pointer from Sara Turner.
Monroe County came back in the second quarter and outscored the Lady Dawgs 12-6 to trail by only three points at the half, 19-16.
Monroe County took control in the third quarter and scored 14 points compared to Clinton County’s 10.
The Lady Dawgs’ 10 points came from Mann, Cope and Aysha Sutton with a basket each, Moons with one free throw and a three pointer by Tatum Harlan.
Clinton County found itself down by one at the end of three, 30-29.
Moons scored 10 of her 21 points in the fourth quarter along with two field goals by Mann for a total of 14 team points. However, Monroe County put up 18 points in the fourth quarter and was able to hold off the Lady Dawgs for the win, 48-43.
