Wayne County Sheriff’s activity report

Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron has reported the following arrest activity during the past week:

Bobby L. Foster, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to pay child support as ordered.

Chantil Asberry, of Monticello, KY., was arrested on Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear for Contempt of Court.

Foster and Asberry were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

In other law enforcement action, Sandy G. Perkins, of Monticello, Ky., was served with a Wayne County Circuit Court Criminal Summons on the underlying charges of two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (less than 10 drugs unspecified on each count)

Perkins was given a court date to appear.

According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a Wayne County man has been arrested for theft of an auto and on multiple other charges.

At 9:05 p.m. on March 24, 2021, Wayne County 911 Dispatch Center received a call of a vehicle just being stolen from a residence on the Denney Hollow Sinking Road.

While deputies were in route to the call, a second call was received stating the vehicle was hung up after the vehicle crossed over a driveway on the Bobby Tucker Road. Upon arrival, deputies Jerry Coffey and Derek Dennis observed the suspect walking away form the vehicle.

While making the arrest, the suspect resisted and had to be taken to the ground to be handcuffed.

Deputy Dennis charged and arrested Austin Tucker, of Monticello, Ky., for theft by unlawful taking or disposition-auto, criminal mischief-3rd degree, resisting arrest, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol-3rd offense, (aggravating circumstances), disorderly conduct-2nd degree and for driving on a driving under the influence suspended operator’s license (aggravating circumstances).

Tucker was taken to the Wayne County Hospital for a blood draw for the driving under the influence charge. However, after speaking to an attorney, Tucker refused. Tucker was then lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

In other law enforcement action, Sheriff Catron reports the following:

Joshua Catron, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana and for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bryan Massengale, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine) and for possession of a controlled substance-2nd degree (drug unspecified).

Riedel Joe, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine) and for a traffic violation.

Joe was also arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear for a motion to revoke bond on the underlying charge of escape-2nd degree (facility).

Jacob Dishman, of Monticello, Ky., was served with a Wayne County Circuit Court Criminal Summons on the underlying charges of possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and for failure to appear.

Donnie Lawson, of Monticello, Ky., was served with a Wayne County District Court Criminal Summons on the underlying charges of driving on a driving under the influence suspended operator’s license, a traffic violation and for failure to appear.

Christopher J. Thompson, of Monticello, Ky., was served with a Wayne County District Court Criminal Summons on the underlying charges of failure of owner to maintain required insurance, a traffic violation and for contempt of court.

Catron, Massengale and Joe were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center. Dishman, Lawson and Thompson were given court dates to appear.

On March 25, 2021, deputies Allen Cash, Jerry Coffey and Derek Dennis obtained the search warrant after the sheriff’s office received information that a convicted felon was in possession of firearms and ammunition.

The Deputies executed the search warrant at 6:00 p.m. on March 25, 2021, at a residence located on Kentucky Highway 833. The deputies located a .22 caliber rifle with several rounds of ammunition inside the residence.

While searching an unattached building on the property the deputes located methamphetamine, digital scales and several plastic baggies consistent with drug trafficking. Also, the deputies found a loaded .22 caliber handgun on a shelf above these items.

Deputy Derek Dennis charged and arrested Staley Sharp, of Monticello, Ky., for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (less than 2 grams of methamphetamine) and for possession of drug paraphernalia (deliver/manufacture).

Sharp was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron, a Wayne County man has been indicted for drug trafficking in the United States District Court Eastern District of Kentucky Southern Division London, Ky. on March 25, 2021.

On February 17, 2021, Deputies Derek Dennis and Jerry Coffey arrested Logan Criswell, of Monticello, Ky., on multiple felony charges for kidnapping (with serious physical injury), attempted murder of a Police Officer, two counts of drug trafficking and on multiple other felony charges.

Sheriff Catron turned over the case against Criswell shortly after his arrest to the United States Drug Enforcement Agency Field Office in London, Ky.

The Federal Indictment against Criswell is for possessing with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing methamphetamine ,a schedule II-controlled substance. The penalties for this charge/indictment are for not less than five years and not more than 40 years of imprisonment, not more than a $5,000 fine and at least four years of supervised release.

The Drug Enforcement Agency along with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, is continuing with the investigation with more Federal and State Indictments pending.

Deputy Derek Dennis with the Wayne County Sheriff Office served Criswell with the Federal Indictment on March 25, 2021, while he was still being incarcerated at the Wayne County Detention Center.

Criswell will be transferred by United States Federal Marshalls to a Federal Holding Facility in the coming days.

According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron, his office has arrested a Wayne County man for drug trafficking and on a firearm charge after receiving a drug tip.

Deputies Derek Dennis, Jerry Meadows and Monticello Police Department Sergeant John Hurd went to a residence on Easy Street to do a follow up on the tip. The man living at that residence was also known to have an active warrant for his arrest. After making the arrest, permission was given to search the residence. The search recovered approximately five grams of methamphetamine, items related to the sale of illegal narcotics and a 9 mm handgun.

Deputy Dennis charged and arrested Joshua Ramsey, of Monticello, Ky., for trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine) and for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Ramsey was charged for being in possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Ramsey was convicted on a felony charge in Ohio. Ramsey was also arrested on the Wayne County District Court Warrant of arrest for failure to appear for Arraignment on the underlying charges of failure of owner to maintain required insurance and for multiple traffic violations.

Ramsey was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

In other law enforcement action, Sheriff Catron also reports the following activity:

Brittany D. Jenkins, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol), disorderly conduct-2nd degree, possession of a controlled substance-1st degree and for possession of a controlled substance-3rd degree (drug unspecified).

Austin J. Conn, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol), possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine) and for possession of a controlled substance-3rd degree (drug unspecified).

Tracy S. Huckaby, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County Circuit Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to pay child support as ordered.

David UpChurch, of Somerset, Ky., was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine) and for traffic violations.

Upchurch was also arrested on a Pulaski County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear for Diversion Completion on the underlying charges of operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, failure of non-owner to maintain required insurance and for traffic violations.

Jenkins, Conn, Huckaby and Upchurch were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron his office has arrested a local man after he threaten to shoot another.

The incident occurred on Kentucky Highway 3106 at a business location. On March 27, 2021, at 6:44 p.m. deputy Derek Dennis was dispatched to the scene.

Once on location, Deputy Dennis learned from witnesses that the two men got into a confrontation after one was told not to throw trash into the business’ trash dumpster. An employee at the business stated this has been an ongoing problem with people illegally dumping trash there.

Deputy Dennis went to a nearby residence where the suspect admitted to pulling a gun during the argument between the two. The suspect then provided deputy Dennis with a 9 mm handgun that was used during the encounter.

Deputy Dennis then charged and arrested Braiden W. Dunn, of Monticello, Ky., for wanton endangerment-1st degree and for terroristic threatening-3rd degree.

Dunn was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

In other law enforcement action:

Kayla Brown, of Albany, Ky., was arrested by deputy Jerry Meadows after responding to a reckless driving complaint on East Kentucky Highway 90. Brown was charged and arrested for careless driving and for operating a motor vehicle under the influence-2nd offense.

Brown was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

Sonya D. Branscum, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for alcohol intoxication in a public place.

Branscum was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

Dylan R. Young, unknown address, was arrested for fleeing or evading Police-1st degree, public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol) and for resisting arrest.

Young was also arrested on a Wayne County Circuit Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear for a pre-trial conference on the underlying charges of trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (less than two grams of methamphetamine), engaging in organized crime, possession of drug paraphernalia and for persistent felony offender-2nd degree.

Debora A. Reynolds (Roysdon/Higgins), of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County Circuit Court indictment warrant of arrest for bail jumping-1st degree.

Reynolds was also arrested on a Wayne County Circuit and District Courts warrants of arrest for failure to appear for pre-trial conferences on the underlying charges of possession of a controlled substance-1srt degree (drug unspecified), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to notify address change to the Department of Transportation and for failure to appear.

Jonathan M. Brown, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Complaint Warrant of Arrest for fleeing or evading Police-2nd degree.

Clayton Sexton, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County District Court warrant of arrest for failure to appear for a pre-trial conference on the underlying charges of criminal mischief-3rd degree and for resisting arrest.

Young, Reynolds, Brown and Sexton were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
