Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron has reported the following arrest activity during the past week:
Matthew Perdue, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine) and for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Perdue was also arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear for arraignment on the underlying charges of public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol) and for failure to appear.
Perdue was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
Emily Coomer, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear for arraignment on the underlying charges of operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license and for traffic violations.
Coomer was released from custody after posting a bond.
According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a Wayne County father and son have been arrested on drug trafficking and multiple other charges.
On March 2, 2021, at 11 pm, deputies Jerry Coffey, Jerry Meadows, James Barnett, and Derek Dennis, with K-9 Units Dunya and Lyon, executed a search warrant at a residence on Wright Hollow Road.
The search warrant was obtained by deputy Dennis from an investigation he conducted after receiving drug trafficking information. The search warrant resulted in the deputies seizing over three grams of methamphetamine, 128 oxycodone tablets, 83 morphine tablets, a small amount of marijuana, seven guns, numerous rounds of ammunition and gun magazines, two sets of digital scales, $682.00 in cash and a reported stolen cell phone.
Deputy Dennis charged and arrested Jared Gregory, of Monticello, for trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (greater than or equal to two grams of methamphetamine- enhancement), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and for receiving stolen property.
Justin Gregory, of Monticello, Ky., was charged and arrested for trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (greater than or equal to 10 drugs unspecified-enhancement), possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine-enhancement) and for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both men were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

Leah M. Duncan, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County Circuit Court Warrant of Arrest for violation of bond conditions on the underlying charges of trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (greater than or equal to two grams of methamphetamine), trafficking in a controlled substance-2nd degree (less than 20 drugs unspecified), trafficking in a controlled substance-3rd degree (greater than or equal to 20 drugs unspecified), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and for traffic violations.
Nathanal Holcombe, of Byrdstown Tennessee, was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear for a pre-trial conference on the underlying charges of failure of owner to maintain required insurance, no operator’s license and for traffic violations.
Lashawnda Burnett, of Monticello, Ky., was served with a Wayne County District Court Criminal Complaint Summons on the underlying charges of unlawful transaction with a minor-3rd degree and for failure of parent to send child to school.
Duncan was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center. Holcombe was released from custody after posting a bond. Burnett was given a Court date to appear.
Doug Atkinson,. of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana and for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Atkinson was also arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for leaving rehab without completing program as ordered on the underling charges of possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license and for traffic violations.
Jared Gregory, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on two Wayne County District Court Complaint Warrants of Arrest for burglary-2nd degree, assault-4th degree, terroristic threatening-3rd degree and for intimidating a participant in the legal process.
This arrest is from a continuing drug trafficking investigation from April 2, 2021 by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Atkinson was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center. Gregory remained in the Wayne County Detention Center.
Austin Lee, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Complaint Warrant of Arrest for criminal trespassing-2nd degree.
Lee remained in the Wayne County Detention Center.
David Sexton, of Burgin, Ky., was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance, expired operator’s license, possession of marijuana and for a traffic violation.
Derek Coffey, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for violation of a Kentucky Emergency/Domestic Violence Order. Coffey was also served with a Wayne County District Court Criminal Summons for criminal trespassing-1st degree, possession of drug paraphernalia and for failure to appear.
Brian L. Day, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on three Wayne County District Court Warrants of Arrest on the underlying charges of criminal trespassing-1st degree and for three counts of failure to appear.
Patricia Strunk, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear for Arraignment on the underlying charges of two counts of possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (drugs unspecified), possession of marijuana and for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sexton, Coffey, Day and Strunk were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
