Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron has reported the following arrest activity during the past week:
According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a vehicle traffic stop led to an arrest of a Wayne County woman for drug trafficking.
On April 27, 2021, at 11:12 p.m., Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Deputy James Barnett conducted the traffic stop on Kendrick Avenue for a traffic violation. Deputy Barnett was given consent to search the vehicle. A search of a purse belonging to a passenger resulted in an unlabeled medication bottle containing 30 pills which was identified as being Methylphenidate, a scheduled II narcotic, a smoking pipe and two syringes being seized.
Deputy Barnett charged and arrested Constance Duncan, of Monticello, Ky., for trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (greater than or equal to 10 drugs unspecified) and for prescription of a controlled substance not in a proper container.
Duncan was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
In other arrests, Jason Miller, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol).
Jacob Ingram, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for driving on a driving under the influence suspended operator’s license. Ingram was also arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear for arraignment on the underlying charges of operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, failure to register transfer of a motor vehicle, failure of owner to maintain required insurance and for a traffic violation.
Lance D. Coffey, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Complaint Warrant of Arrest for failure to produce an insurance card and for failure of owner to maintain required insurance.
Cody Pence, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear for a pre-trial conference on the underlying charges of three counts of theft by unlawful taking or disposition.
Miller, Ingram, Coffey, and Pence were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office arrested Wayne County a woman for drug possession and a Wayne County man for drug trafficking from two separate traffic stops on April 28, 2021.
Deputy Joe Horne conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Cherry Street after he observed it leaving a suspected drug trafficking location and for making traffic violations. After contacting the driver, Deputy Horne obtained consent to search the vehicle. The search resulted in a small amount of unspecified narcotics and drug paraphernalia items being seized.
Deputy Horne charged and arrested Katara N. Dishman, of Monticello, Ky., for possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (drug unspecified), possession of drug paraphernalia, failure of owner to maintain required insurance and for traffic violations.
Deputy Derek Dennis was continuing to patrol the Rollohome Park due to several arrest being made there for drug trafficking in the last several weeks. When turning into the park, he observed a pickup truck blocking the road.
After pulling up beside the truck, Deputy Dennis identified the driver as having an active arrest warrant. When speaking to the driver, Deputy Dennis could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the person and from inside the truck. Deputy Dennis placed the driver under arrest for the active warrant.
A search of the person resulted in six bags of a crystal substance weighing 11 grams and marijuana cigarettes being seized. Consent to search the truck was obtained resulting in a smoking pipe and rolling papers being located.
Deputy Dennis charged and arrested David Spence, of Monticello, Ky., for trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (greater than or equal to two grams of methamphetamine), possession of marijuana and for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Spence was also arrested on a McCreary County Circuit Court Indictment Warrant of Arrest for possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
Dishman and Spence were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
Bobby R. Webb, Jr., of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
Bobby K. Coomer, Jr. was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to pay child support as ordered.
Webb and Coomer were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
David K. Piercy, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County Circuit Court Warrant of Arrest for Probation Violation on the underlying charges of possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine) and for non-payment of costs, fees, or fines.
Piercy was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron,a Wayne County man has been arrested on multiple charges including burglary of a church.
At 3:43 am on May 2, 2021, Deputy Jacob Vanover responded to the Canada Creek Baptist Church area on East Kentucky Highway 92 after receiving a call about a man running off from a residence when he was told the Sheriff’s Office was responding.
The second call into the Wayne County Dispatch Center provided information that someone had broken into the church and was turning the lights on and off.
Upon arrival at the Church, deputy Vanover located the male suspect standing inside the church yelling. Deputy Vanover gave the suspect verbal commands to come outside. The suspect refused to come out and when deputy Vanover entered the church, the suspect continued to refuse the deputy’s commands and then started throwing Holy Bibles and the church’s song books at him. After deputy Vanover deployed his Tazer and a brief struggle, the suspect was subdued and was placed under arrest.
An inspection of the church by deputy Vanover he found the front door damaged, and two windows had been broken. Deputy Vanover was assisted at the scene by Sheriff Catron.
Deputy Vanover charged and arrested Lucas J. Decker, of Monticello, Ky., for burglary-3rd degree, criminal mischief-1st degree, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct-1st degree, menacing, assault-3rd degree-Police or Probation Officer and for public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol).
Decker was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
In other arrests, Kaleb Gregory, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and for a traffic violation.
Lance P. Oineza, of Winnie, Texas, was arrested for alcohol intoxication in a public place.
Hailey J. Johnston, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Kentucky Parole Board Mandatory Reentry Supervision Violation Warrant of Arrest for absconding parole supervision, failure to attend a halfway house program, failure to cooperate with Parole Officer and for failure to report to parole officer as directed.
Johnston was also arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear for a motion hour on the underlying charges of wanton endangerment-2nd degree -police officer, criminal mischief-2nd degree and for non-payment of costs, fees or fines.
Gregory, Oineza and Johnston were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a traffic stop has led to an arrest of a Somerset woman on drug trafficking charges.
On May 3, 2021 at 10:30 pm Deputies Derek Dennis and Jerry Meadows conducted the traffic stop on a vehicle for traffic violations on East Kentucky Highway 90.
While speaking to the driver and the passenger information was obtained from the passenger that drug paraphernalia items were inside the vehicle. Deputy Dennis deployed his K-9 Unit Deputy Dunya for a free air sniff. Deputy Dunya alerted on the passenger side door of the vehicle. Both deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and located syringes and several new small plastic baggies known to be used in the sale of illegal narcotics in a purse belonging to the female.
The female passenger was told she would be taken for a search of her body and at that point she admitted to having Heroin mixed with fentanyl on her.
The illegal narcotics were recovered with a total weight of 13 grams. Also nine orange tablets were recovered on her which was identified as Clonazepam.
Deputy Dennis charged and arrested Jessica Brumley, of Somerset, Ky., for trafficking in a controlled substance-2nd or greater offense (heroin), trafficking in a controlled substance-1st offense (Carfentanil or Fentanyl Derivatives), possession of a controlled substance-3rd degree (drug unspecified) and for possession of drug paraphernalia.
The investigation is continuing by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Brumley was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
In another arrest Chelsie E. Marshall, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Pulaski County Circuit Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear on the underlying charges of criminal possession of a forged instrument-2nd degree and for theft of identity of another without consent.
Marshall was also lodged in the Wayne County detention Center.
