Clinton County’s COVID-19 case numbers went largely unchanged again during the past seven days, according to daily information briefs released by the Lake Cumberland Area District Health Department.
Clinton County was listed as having a single active case of COVID-19 as of Tuesday morning of this week, according to the LCDHD.
On Thursday of last week, the LCDHD altered Clinton County’s total case count by removing a case from the total number of cases.
“A close look at the data may appear that our Clinton count is off today. This is because we are deleting a duplicate entry for Clinton,” the daily report explained.
Also on Thursday, a case that had been listed as a patient being treated in a hospital was removed from that category as well.
Clinton County is one of six counties listed in the yellow level, or Community Spread level of cases, between one to 10 cases per 100,000 population during a seven day period, along with Casey, Green, McCreary, Pulaski and Russell counties.
Cumberland and Wayne counties were in the green or “on track” category with case numbers less than one per 100,000 population, while Adair and Taylor counties were in the orange or accelerated spread level of case numbers between 10 and 25 per 100,000 population.
None of the 10 LCDHD counties were listed in the highest, or red “critical” level of case numbers greater than 25 per 100,000.
With the adjustment of cases among Clinton County residents last week, the total number of COVID-19 cases experienced by local residents was listed as 1,450 as of Tuesday morning.
Clinton County has experienced 32 deaths since the pandemic began here in March, 2020.
Across the 10 county district, the case totals have dropped below 100, with the district having 98 active cases as of Tuesday morning.
That compares to the all-time high number of active cases across the district that occurred on December 10, 2020, when that number hit its peak at 1,341 active cases.
In addition to Clinton County’s single active case of COVID-19 as of Tuesday morning, the total case counts for the remaining counties and the number of patients being treated in area hospitals in parentheses were: Adair 24 (1), Casey 8 (1), Cumberland 0, Green 1 (0), McCreary 5 (2), Pulaski 35 (7), Russell 3, Taylor 21 (3) and Wayne 0.
