Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron has reported the following arrest activity during the past week:
Kent Farias, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, no operator’s license and for a traffic violation.
Randall S. Winchester, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine) and for possession of drug paraphernalia. Winchester was also arrested on two Wayne County District Court Warrants of Arrest for failure to appear for arraignments on the underlying charges of public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol) and for theft by unlawful taking or disposition-shoplifting.
Ricky L. Hagen, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on two Wayne County District Court Warrants of Arrest for two counts of failure to comply on the underlying charges of two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, contempt of court and for failure to appear.
Farias, Winchester and Hagan were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
Elisha Turpin, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (heroin), possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a driving under the influence suspended operator’s license, failure of non-owner to maintain required insurance and for a traffic violation. Turpin was also arrested on a Wayne County District Court Complaint Warrant of Arrest for theft by unlawful taking or disposition and for criminal mischief-2nd degree.
Christopher B. Thompson, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Pulaski County District Court Warrant of Arrest for violation of a Kentucky Emergency Protective/Domestic Violence Order.
Turpin and Thompson were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
Angel G. Benitez, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County Circuit Court Warrant of Arrest.
Defendant was released from jail by accident on the underlying charges of trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (greater than or equal to two grams of methamphetamine), tampering with physical evidence, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance-2nd degree (drug unspecified) and for possession of marijuana.
Bobbie K. Thompson, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear for arraignment on the underlying charges of driving on a driving under the influence suspended operator’s license and for driving without a license/negligence in an accident.
Benitez and Thompson were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron, his office is continuing investigations into the illegal sales of narcotics that have resulted in another Wayne County man being arrested on drug trafficking charges.
The investigation led deputies with the Sheriff’s Office to obtain a search warrant for a residence on Furnace Mountain Road. The search warrant was executed at 5:26 pm on June 4, 2021. The search resulted in methamphetamine, five sets of digital scales, numerous plastic bags consistent with drug trafficking, Gabapentin and Suboxone tablets being seized. Also $1,264.00 in cash was confiscated.
Deputy Derek Dennis charged and arrested Matthew Brown, of Monticello, Ky., for trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (greater than two grams of methamphetamine), trafficking in a controlled substance-2nd degree (less than 20 drug unspecified-scheduled three narcotic) and for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Brown was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
Deputy Dennis was assisted with the execution of the search warrant by deputies Joe Horne, Jerry Coffey and Valis Smedley.

Jacob Dodd, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Pulaski County Circuit Court Indictment Warrant of Arrest for burglary-2nd degree, theft by unlawful taking or disposition from a building and for theft by unlawful taking or disposition-controlled substance.
Dodd remained in the Wayne County Detention Center.
John D. Watson, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol (aggravating circumstances) and for careless driving.
Jose M. Gonzalez, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for driving on a driving under the influence suspended operator’s license and for traffic violations. Gonzalez was also arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear for a pre-trial conference on the underlying charge of no operator’s license.
Watson and Gonzalez were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron ,an undercover drug investigation has led to the arrest of a Wayne County woman.
The arrest came after two undercover buys of illegal narcotics were conducted by deputies with the Sheriff’s Office of opiate narcotic pills.
On June 6, 2021, Deputy Joe Horne charged and arrested Donna Sullivan, of Monticello, Ky., for trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (greater than or equal to 10 drugs unspecified), trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (less than 10 drugs unspecified) and for two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.
Sullivan was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
Jammie D. Clark, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Jefferson County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear on the underlying charges of failure of owner to maintain required insurance and for traffic violations.
Clark was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
Sheriff Catron states his Office is continuing to be dedicated in fighting the drug epidemic in Wayne County. Sheriff Catron is requesting all citizens of Wayne County with information on illegal drug trafficking to contact his office at 606-348-5416.
