The new US 127 (Albany Bypass) from the Construction Diversion near Crudewell Drilling, extending south to KY 1590 in Clinton County, will be open to traffic on Monday, December 12, 2011, dependent upon the weather.
This $15,048,940 project was awarded to L-M Asphalt Partners LTD D/B/A ATS Construction, with construction beginning in March of 2010.
Traffic has been utilizing a diversion near Crudewell Drilling to access existing US 127 to allow construction on this section of roadway. With construction nearing completion, ATS Construction and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will open this section of US 127. This section will be open to traffic in both directions and will require southbound traffic to stop at the intersection of KY 1590 by use of the new traffic signal. All side roads crossing this new section of roadway will be required to stop as well.
The Transportation Cabinet is asking motorist to be aware of changes in the traffic patterns and to drive safely through this newly open section of US 127. Pay attention to all roadway signs and markings.
