John D. Sloan, 90, of Albany, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2021, at The Medical Center-Albany.
He was the son of the late Frank Sloan and Clara Staley Sloan and was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Helen Witham Sloan; his siblings, Arnold (Chastine) Sloan, Lorene (Earl) Norris, Imogene (Morris) Hatfield, Elizabeth (Jim) Williams, and Ivan (Elise) Sloan.
He was a Clinton County Magistrate for 15 years and a Kentucky Colonel. He also helped operate Albany Drive-In and was a well known painter in this county for many years. He was a member of Clear Fork Baptist Church.
He is survived by a son, Steven R. Sloan, and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Talbott Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Sawyer officiating.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family, and may be left at the funeral home.
Talbott Funeral Home of Albany, Kentucky, was in charge of arrangements.
