A little summer break for the youngsters
While there will be summer practices, scrimmages and camps to attend, the high school aged athletes will get a little time off for the next few weeks to kick back and enjoy some summer activities.
Organized sports will be on a slower pace for the next several weeks, and even when the aforementioned activities are going on, it will be a much more relaxed, and likely a more fun, pace.
Then, before you know it, things get rushed, crazy and fun all over again.
Hopefully, however, when we do begin returning to regular high school sports seasons, it will look nothing like it did last year and we’ll be back to normal and maybe, soon forget this mess that was 2020-21.
In the meantime, enjoy some outdoor activities, at the lake, at the ball park, at a golf course, and let’s ease back into getting together again, enjoying some unmasked, vaccinated games and maybe, just maybe, things can begin to look and feel normal before too long.
Happy Father’s Day
While it’s not directly sports related, often time Father’s Day gifts are in fact sports themed – be it new sports toys, an afternoon on the course or a day watching some PGA golf on the tube with the kids.
So, to all the fathers out there – Happy Father’s Day. As a father myself, I think it’s very fitting that Father’s Day 2021 also falls on the day that summer officially gets started, the Summer Solstice – Father’s Day should always be the longest day of the year!
