The Clinton County High School JROTC Bulldog Battalion competed in its first Raider Competition of the year recently, heading to Clarkrange, Tennesee, for the event.
Going up against 25 units from other schools, the Clinton County team had only been able to practice four times prior to the competition, according to one of its sponsors, MAJ (Ret) Melissa Ramsey.
Ramsey told the Clinton County News that, although the group was comprised of 70 percent freshman with little prior competition experience, she was proud of how the team performed in the event.
“They did exceptional for the experience at hand,” Ramsey said.  “This is the most physically challenged competition of the year.  Even though we didn’t place top three, they did an awesome job.”
Ramsey added that the next competition for the CCHS Bulldog Raiders will take place September 25 on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University.
