Robert Wells Flowers, 88, E. Water St., Albany, passed away Monday, December 12, 2011 at Clinton County Hospital. He was a member of Albany First Baptist Church, WWII Veteran-30th Infantry Division, European Theater, a member of Albany Fire Department since 1955, a founding member of the Clinton County Rescue Squad, a member of Albany Masonic Lodge #206 since 1952, a member of the Eastern Star Chapter #429 since 1965, served as a member of the Albany City Council from 1961-1969, and a long time Barber, operating Flowers Barber Shop for 60 years.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Ann Flowers; a daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Jimmy Beaty, all of Albany; a brother, Billy (Linda) Flowers, Corbin, KY; two grandchildren, Michelle (Jessie) Stockton and James (Cindy) Beaty; three great-grandchildren, Savannah and Noah Stockton and Lucas Beaty; two step-great-grandchildren, five step-great-great-grandchildren and six nieces.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 15 at 11 a.m. at Talbott Funeral Home with Rev. Rodney and Kim Koger officiating. Final resting place in Albany Cemetery with Military Honors. A Masonic Lodge service was held Wednesday, December 14 at 7 p.m. Arrangements made through Talbott Funeral Home of Albany.
