The Clinton County Industrial Development Authority basically wrapped up another year, holding its final regularly scheduled meeting last Thursday, December 8 at the Welcome Center. Only four of seven members were on hand for the session.

Once again, there was a limited agenda for the regular meeting, with only a hand full of votes being taken.

The session began with board member Keith McWhorter opening with a prayer for Don Davis, who was in a Lexington hospital in bad health, and his family.

On a motion by board member Debbie Brown, they voted unanimously to make the annual donation to Project Graduation, this year in the amount of $800.

Holly Lewis, field representative for U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, was also in attendance for the meeting. She made some brief comments pertaining to possible tax breaks, as well as the “Keystone Pipe Line” project from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico, noting the project would go west of the Mississippi River.

The pipe line issue is now in discussion among the President and lawmakers in Washington.

The only votes taken by the IDA last week were approval of board minutes, voting to pay claims and bills and approving the monthly expenditure reports.

The Industrial Authority meets every other month on the second Thursday morning. It’s next regular meeting is scheduled for February 9 at 11 a.m. at the IDA-Welcome Center and is open to the public.
