If you love high school basketball but hate to drive, then your stocking has been filled with just your kind of gift for this Christmas.

The Twin Lakes Holiday Classic, hosted at Clinton County High School, gets underway next week at the Lindle Castle Gymnasium, with teams from six schools participating in the round-robin styled event.

All in all, with varsity and junior varsity competition being played at CCHS this year, fans can enjoy as many as 20 games during the three day event slated to be held Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, December 19-21.

According to CCHS Athletic Director Mike Beard, the tournament will involve a separate admission for local fans who have purchased season passes to Clinton County’s regular season home games, but he noted that for the price of daily admission, the Classic will be absolutely one of the best basketball bargains in the state.

Admission prices will be $6 per day for adults and $4 per day for students. There will be six games on Monday, eight games on Tuesday, and six games on Wednesday.

The admission price covers all games for each day. For those people who have purchased the bleacher seats with the backs, CCHS will be honoring those during games in which Clinton County is playing.

The tournament will be a round robin format with each team playing the other four participating teams. The team with the best record during the four games will be the tournament champion.

Tie breakers are head to head competition. If there is a three-way tie, the tie breaker goes to most quarters won by those teams involved in the tie.

The Twin Lakes Classic also includes a JV tournament based on the same format as the varsity.

Game by game results will be posted during the tournament, allowing fans to keep up with each team’s standing in the Twin Lakes Holiday Classic.
