Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron has reported the following arrest activity during the past week

According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron the continued investigation into the illegal sales of narcotics by Matthew and Anna Brown from last week has resulted in another arrest.

On November 22, 2021, Deputy Derek Dennis obtained a Wayne County District Court Complaint Warrant of Arrest for Destiny Sexton, of Monticello, Ky., after his investigation revealed that Sexton was told by Matthew Brown she could go to the Brown’s residence and pick up methamphetamine one at a time and what the price would be while he was still being incarcerated at the Wayne County Detention Center.

On November 23, 2021, Deputy James Barnett arrested Sexton on the Complaint Warrant of Arrest for conspiracy to traffic in a controlled substance and engaging in organized crime.

Sexton was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing with more arrests pending.

Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron reports the following arrests:

Riedel Joe, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County Circuit Court Warrant of Arrest for Probation Violation on the underlying charge of escape-2nd degree (facility). Joe was also arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to pay or show cause on the underlying charges of escape-2nd degree (facility) and Contempt of Court.

Randy K. Cooper, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County Circuit Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear for a pre-Trial conference on the underlying charges of trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (greater than two grams of methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Cooper was also arrested on three Wayne County District Court Warrants of Arrest and a Pulaski County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to pay or show cause on the underlying charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, two counts of operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, two counts of failure of owner to maintain required insurance, traffic violations and contempt of court.

Matthew J. Kirkman of Elkton, Ky. was arrested on a Todd County Circuit Court Warrant of Arrest for violation of conditions of probation on the underlying charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and probation violation (for felony offense).

Joe, Cooper and Kirkman were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

In other law enforcement action, Christopher Sanders, of Monticello, Ky., was served with a Wayne County District Court Criminal Summons for possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance and operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license.

Sanders was given a court date to appear.

According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron, a shooting incident on Thanksgiving Day resulted in two Wayne County men being arrested.

At approximately 5:34 p.m. Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Deputies Jerry Coffey and Derek Dennis responded to a residence on Old Zula Road for two men fighting, with one man being shot.

Upon arrival, the deputies located one man sitting in his car a short distance away from the shooting scene with a gunshot wound to his hand.

The car had taken multiple rounds of gunfire during the incident. At the scene, the deputies found the other involved person waiting on them with no injuries.

The deputies investigation into the incident revealed that the two men had been at odds over a female for an extended period of time.

The injured victim was at the residence when the shooter arrived after being contacted by the female, and an argument began.

The victim was shot while sitting inside his vehicle then left the scene to get away from the gunfire.

The victim was transported to the Wayne County Hospital by the Wayne County Emergency Medical Service and was later released after receiving treatment for his injuries.

After being released, Deputy Jerry Coffey charged and arrested Matthew G. Wray, of Monticello, Ky., for violation of a Kentucky Emergency/Domestic Violence Order. Deputy Derek Dennis charged and arrested Tony G. Hicks, of Monticello, Ky., for assault-2nd degree.

Both men were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

Deputies Coffey and Dennis were assisted at the scene by Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Officer Jerrod Alley and Sheriff Catron.

The case is still under investigation.

In other law enforcement action, Dustin Prince was arrested on a Wayne County Circuit Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear on the underlying charges of possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (opiates) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Prince was also arrested on two Pulaski County District Court Warrants of Arrest for failure to appear on the underlying charges of operating on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, two counts of failure of owner to maintain required insurance, failure to have license in possession and traffic violations.

Prince was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

Hanna Hurt, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County Circuit Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to pay or show cause on the underlying charge of non-payment of court costs, fees or fines.

Hurt was also arrested on two Wayne County District Court Warrants of Arrest for failure to pay or show cause on the underlying charges of promoting contraband-2nd degree and terroristic threatenting-3rd degree.

Jesse F. Wallace, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to pay or show cause on the underlying charge of assault-4th degree (domestic violence).

Hurt and Wallace were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron, another arrest has been made from the continuing investigation into the illegal sales of narcotics from the arrest of Matthew Brown on November 15, 2021, on drug trafficking and related charges.

On November 26, 2021, Deputy Derek Dennis obtained a Wayne County District Court Complaint Warrant of Arrest for Baron Alexander for the charges of conspiracy to traffic in a controlled substance-1st offense and engaging in organized crime related to the Brown investigation.

On November 26, 2021, at approximately 9:04 pm, deputies Dennis and Brad Tucker, while attempting to locate Alexander to serve the complaint warrant observed him operating a vehicle on Kentucky Highway 167. Once the deputies activated their emergency equipment to initiate a traffic stop, Alexander took off to elude the deputies. The deputies then pursued Alexander for several miles on numerous state and county roads, including through downtown Monticello. Alexander was finally stopped at the residence of the vehicle’s owner on Kentucky Highway 200 ,where he was blocked in by multiple deputies while attempting to flee again.

Deputy Dennis charged and arrested Baron Alexander, of Monticello, Ky., for five counts of wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police-1st degree (motor vehicle), resisting arrest, operating on a suspended operator’s license, possession/use of a radio that sends/receives police messages and numerous traffic violations.

Alexander was also arrested on the Wayne County District Court Complaint Warrant of Arrest for conspiracy to traffic in a controlled substance-1st offense and engaging in organized crime. Alexander was lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

Deputies Dennis and Tucker were assisted by Sheriff Catron and deputies Allan Cash, Jerry Meadows, Jerry Coffey and Wayne County District 1 Constable Robert Riddle.

The Brown investigation is ongoing with more arrest expected.

In other law enforcement actions, the Wayne County Sheriff Office made the following arrests.

Jason Garner, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for driving on a driving under the influence suspended operator’s license.

Dickie G. Wallace, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on two Wayne County District Court Warrants of Arrest for failure to pay or show cause on the underlying charges of two counts of possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dwight J. Guffey, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to pay or show cause on the underlying charge of sexual assault-3rd degree.

Jimmy Barnes, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to pay or show cause on the underlying charges of possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Garner, Wallace, Guffey and Barnes were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

Zachary R. Holliday, of Burnside, Ky., was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol-3rd offense (aggravating circumstances) and reckless driving.

James E. Hodge, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County Circuit Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to pay support as ordered.

Crystal L. Wallace, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County Circuit Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to comply with drug court on the underlying charge of trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (less than two grams of methamphetamine).

Wallace was also arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to pay or show cause on the underlying charge of a traffic violation.

Justin J. Godsey, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear for arraignment on the underlying charge of criminal trespassing-3rd degree. Godsey was also arrested on a Jessamine County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear on the underlying charge of public intoxication-controlled substance.

Crystal L. Godsey, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear for arraignment on the underlying charge of criminal trespassing-3rd degree.

Patricia Carrender, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested on a Russell County Circuit Court Warrant of Arrest for probation violation on the underlying charges of possession of a controlled subnstance-1st degree (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (drug unspecified) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Holiday, Hodge, Wallace, Justin Godsey, Crystal Godsey and Carrender were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

Joe Estle, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for fleeing or evading police-2nd degree (on foot) and resisting arrest.

Roscoe Shelton, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for driving on a driving under the influence suspended operator’s license and for traffic violations.

Estle and Shelton were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron a continuing investigation by Deputy Derek Dennis into the illegal sales of narcotics has led him to obtain Wayne County District Court Complaints Warrants of Arrest for Matthew and Anna Brown both, of Monticello, Ky.,

Matthew Brown was charged and arrested on the complaint warrant for engaging in organized crime. Anna Brown was charged and arrested on the complaint warrant for possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and engaging in organized crime. Both remained lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

On November 29, 2021, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office also made the following arrests:

Jacob Gregory, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for assault-4th degree (domestic violence) and criminal mischief-3rd degree. Gregory was also arrested on a Wayne County District Court Warrant of Arrest for failure to appear for a pre-trial conference on the underlying charge of public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol).

Jimmy Brummett, of Monticello, Ky., was arrested for possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine) .Brummett was arrested on two Wayne County Circuit Court and one Wayne County District Court Warrants of Arrest for failure to pay or show cause on the underlying charges of four counts of trafficking in a controlled substance-1st degree (less than two grams of methamphetamine on each count), possession of a controlled substance-1st degree (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia and giving an officer false identifying information.

Brummett was also served with a Wayne County District Court Criminal Summons for receiving stolen property and two counts of non-payment of fines.

Gregory and Brummett were lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.

In other law enforcement Action, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office served Joseph Estill, of Monticello, Ky., a Wayne County District Court Criminal Summons for public intoxication-controlled substance (excludes alcohol).

Estill was given a court date to appear.
