Conner competes in National Senior

Over 10,000 athletes from all 50 states participated in the 2011 Senior Games held in Houston, Texas June 24-26. Susan Conner was one of 99 Senior athletes from Kentucky who competed in one or more of the 20 individual and team athletic contests. She finished in the top ten for the 1500 meter and 5000 meter race walk events in her age category. She finished fifth in the more physically demanding Triathlon consisting of three events: 400 meter free-style swim, 20K bicycle race and 5K road race, all done in sequence with each contestant being timed.

Susan is a member of the South Central Kentucky Senior Games Board of Directors and participated in the Kentucky Senior Games held in Murray, Kentucky from September 28 through October 1. She returned home with Gold Medals in eleven events which included horseshoes, bowling, race walk, swimming, cycling and tennis.

The National Summer Senior Games are held every two years and the 2013 Games will be held in Cleveland, Ohio.
