South Central Bank/Halton Classic Tips December 27 at Allen County-Scottsville

Final preparations are underway for the third annual South Central Bank/Halton Classic basketball tournament at Allen County-Scottsville High School. This year’s event will feature eight girls and five boy’s teams and be played Tuesday, December 27th through Friday, December 30th.

The four days of basketball will feature teams battling one another in pool play format. The girls will have two pools of four teams with pool results determining final day match-ups. The boys event will have each team playing one another with the overall results determining the tournament championship.

The girls action starts at 10:00 a.m. on December 27th as Hart County (20-10 last year, 3-2 to start this season) plays Adair County (16-10, 5-1). The second game of the day will have Ohio County (21-8, 5-0) facing Tennessee power Red Boiling Springs (32-6, 3-8).

The afternoon session of girls play has Central Hardin (13-13, 1-4) battling Louisville Male (14-13, 4-2). The 5:00 p.m. game will have host Allen County-Scottsville (12-18, 6-0) playing Mason County (9-18, 2-5).

Second day match-ups December 28th will have Red Boiling Springs (TN) facing Adair County at 9:00 a.m. followed by Ohio County and Hart County at 10:45. Male meets Allen County-Scottsville at 4:00 with Mason County and Central Hardin playing in the 7:30 nightcap.

Action on December 29th has Central Hardin playing Allen County-Scottsville at 11:45 a.m. followed by Male and Mason County at 1:30. Adair County plays Ohio County at 5:00 with Red Boiling Springs (TN) and Hart County meeting at 6:45 p.m.

Final day action will have the fourth place seeds in each pool playing at 9:00 a.m. with the third place seeds meeting at 12:30. The second place seeds play at 4:00 with the overall championship scheduled for 7:30.

The boys part of the tournament starts Tuesday December 27th at 1:30 with Clinton County (22-7, 5-0) facing Grayson County (16-14, 4-2) at 1:30. Allen County-Scottsville (12-15, 2-3) plays South Warren (19-9, 0-6) at 6:45.

December 28th boys games has South Warren facing Heath (20-11, 3-2) at 12:30 followed by Grayson County and AC-S. Heath plays again December 28th as the Pirates take on Clinton County at 5:45.

Clinton County and South Warren meet in the 10:00 a.m. game December 29th with Grayson County and Heath squaring off in the 3:15 match-up. On December 30th, AC-S meets Clinton County at 10:45, South Warren and Grayson County play at 2:15 with AC-S and Heath playing at 5:45.
