Ray Deaton, 81, Alpha, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky. He was a member of Cumberland City United Methodist Church and preceded in death by a step-son, Donald Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Deaton, Alpha, KY; a daughter, Shelia Deaton, Cincinnati, OH; a son, Ricky Deaton, TX; a step-daughter, Bernice Shelton, Albany; three step-sons, David Brown, Cincinnati, OH; Rex Brown, OH; James Allen Smith, Albany; a sister, Wilma Jean Asbury, Cincinnati, OH; a brother, Raymond Deaton, FL; also two grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one step-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 23, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Talbott Funeral Home with Bro. Ted Burchett officiating. Final resting place in Davis Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements made through Talbott Funeral Home of Albany.
