Betty Sue Key Sherrell, 83, of Celina, Tennessee, passed away Friday, August 19, 2022, at her residence in the Holy Creek Community of Clay County.

She was born in Clay County, Tennessee, the daughter of Cordell and Rosie Long Key. She was a member of the Rock Springs Church of Christ, a pre-school teacher, farmer, and a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddy Ray Sherrell; son, Clifford Ray Sherrell; sisters, Naomi Key, Mabel Jean Key; brother Reed Key; three infant brothers.

She is survived by her children, Kathy (Jimmy) Short of Celina, Tennessee, Anthony (Rebecca) Sherrell of Celina, Tennessee, Terri (Van) McMinn of Nashville, Tennessee; siblings, Billy Key, of Celina, Tennessee, Nell (Mike) Smith of Celina, Tennessee; grandchildren, Hannah French, Rebecca Golden, James Heath Short, Maralyn Rae Short, Maryna Betty Sue Sherrell; great-grandchildren, Asher Golden, Ian Golden; along with many other family members and friends.

The funeral service was conducted on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Rock Springs Church of Christ, Celina, Tennessee ,with Bro. John Mustain officiating.

Burial followed in the Williams Cemetery in the Pea Ridge Community of Clay County, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers memorials areappreciated to the Rock Springs Cemetery Fund or the Williams Cemetery Fund in memory of Mrs. Sherrell.
