KSP ‘Cram the Cruiser’ effort brings in over 50,000 pounds of food

The Kentucky State Police “Cram the Cruiser” campaign more than doubled the amount of food collected this year with a total of 50,168 pounds. That’s 28,582 pounds more than last year. Post 15 doubled their efforts of one year ago breaking the 2500 lb mark and finishing fifth in the state.

The food was distributed to local shelters, churches or other organizations serving those in need during the holiday season. KSP Post 10 in Harlan, with the help of the Barbourville Police Dept. and the Harlan Co. school system, led the way with 14,436 pounds of food collected. Representing Post 10 and the Barbourville Police Dept (BPD) are (left to right) Tpr. Dallas Eubanks, KSP Det. Jason York, Tpr. Jake Wilson, BPD Det. Brian Senters, Tpr. Shane Jacobs, BPD Officer Scottie Partin, BPD Asst. Chief James Gray, BPD Chief Mike Brought and Barbourville Mayor David Thompson.
