On December 11, Pickett County Sheriff’s Deputy Jerry Governale was patrolling Highway 111 South and noticed a vehicle with a brake light out. After he stopped the vehicle and checked the driver’s license and registration, the tags were expired and no proof of insurance was given. Deputy Governale and Deputy Brandon Koger searched the vehicle and found what appeared to be meth and other drug paraphernalia.
Jeffery Smith, 33, 284 Wray Ridge Road, Albany, Ky. was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine Schedule II, Simple Possession and Drug Paraphernalia.
On September 7, Pickett County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at 9766 Heard Ridge Road after receiving information of possible drug activity. While at the home, components of a meth lab were found and a vehicle was seized. An arrest warrant was issued for Scott Robert Brandau, 32, 2218 Logan Drive, Round Rock, Texas.
On November 10, Pickett County Sgt. Jeff Flowers transported Brandau from Williamson County Jail in Georgetown, Texas where he was being held as a wanted person after fleeing from Tennessee, to Pickett County Jail.
Brandau was charged with promotion of the manufacture of meth, initiation of process intended to result in the manufacture of meth. The case has been bound over to the Pickett County Grand Jury.
