Summer is here but football is on a lot of minds
Despite this week’s cool start after the Sunday rains blew through, summer is here and summer activities are usually on the forefront of everyone’s minds.
Unless you’re a youngster who wants to learn to be a better football player.
This Saturday, June 17, the Gridiron Dawgs will be hosting it’s seventh Annual Youth Football Camp for youth participants entering grades one through eight in the coming 2023-24 school year.
The one-day camp will give the campers some “under the lights” experience also, getting underway at 6:00 p.m. and running until 9:00 p.m.
Campers will be instructed in several areas of both offense and defense.
In order to see any athletic program improve, there has to be a good feeder program involved, and youth camps like this one coming up are essential. If you have a child in grades 1-8 who is interested in the sport of football, take advantage of this fantastic opportunity.

KSR and crew in the area
I received the confirmation this past weekend that everything was a “go” for the Kentucky Sports Radio live remote at Sulphur Creek Resort on Dale Hollow Lake in neighboring Cumberland County.
The upcoming remote show will bring Matt Jones, and his crew to the remote location at the dock, in the restaurant and bar area, on Friday morning, June 23.
The KSR crew will be doing two shows from the Sulphur Creek site, beginning with the recently started “KSR Pre Show” at 8:00 a.m., followed by the main KSR remote program getting underway at 9:00 a.m.
Come out for a live listen that Friday morning, or listening on the radio, it should be an entertaining morning.
