Cameron had a full room in attendance at the Welcome Center for his campaign for governor. Cameron also had with him his selection for lieutenant governor, Senator Robby Mills of Henderson County, Kentucky.
Mills served in the house from 2017-2018 and began his role as Kentucky Senator in 2019.
Also on hand to introduce the candidates were, Congressman James Comer and Representative Josh Branscum.
Cameron announced his candidacy for governor on May 11, 2022. Cameron has been known for criticizing Governor Andy Beashear’s emergency orders during COVID-19.
Cameron beat out challengers Kelly Craft and Ryan Quarles in the primary election in May of this year and is the first major-party African-American nominee for governor in the state’s history.
Above, Cameron walked around the room and shook hands with everybody, including Clinton County Judge/Executive Ricky Craig and members of the fiscal court.
