Foothills XLIII packs ’em in again

It just seems to get better with each year, and this 2023 Foothills Festival was certainly everything that fans could hope for.  Perfect weather and a burst of fall colors in the surrounding “foothills” of the Appalachian Mountains provided a background that kept Foothills fans on the move, taking in all of the sights and sounds throughout the weekend.
One of the largest crowds of the weekend was once again the annual gathering of fans watching the Saturday afternoon Lip Sync contest, shown above.  Below left, Hannah Smith and Kendall Hay brought a medley of Olivia Newton John and John Travolta hits from the movie “Grease” to the stage to earn a first place in the 19 and up category.  Below center, Clinton County’s Paisley Chilton was crowned 2023 Miss Foothills Festival.  Below right, local musician and songwriter Colton Bowlin brought his country music talents to the Foothills stage Saturday night, playing in front of a packed street crowd just prior to the appearance by Shenandoah.
This week’s Clinton County News is chock full of Foothills Festival photos that will give our readers another look at the events that made this 2023 Foothills Festival another tremendous success, and more Foothills photos will be published in next week’s edition.
