Bruce Upchurch, 89, of Monticello, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the Wayne County Hospital.
He was born the Powersburg Community of Wayne County, Kentucky, the son of Cosby Upchurch, Sr. and Vera Lowe Upchurch.
He was of the Baptist Faith, retired from Belden’s, and a Master Mason in the Monticello Masonic Lodge # 431 F. & A.M.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Morgan Upchurch; brother, Cosby Upchurch, Jr.; sisters, Aderene Tuggle and Lois Clark Poe.
He is survived by his sons, Gary Upchurch (Kathy Bright) of Florida, Alan (Karen) Upchurch of Science Hill, Kentucky, and Scott Upchurch of Monticello; sisters, Bonnie Slagle and Mary Parmley, both of Monticello; grandchildren, Morgan B. Upchurch and Abby Upchurch; severasl nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
The funeral service was   conducted on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. E.S.T. in the Memory Chapel of New’s Monticello Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Elk Springs Cemetery. Masonic Rites were given at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2024, in the chapel of the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorials to the Gideon Bible program.
