The southbound lane of US 127 beginning at the mile marker 2 and ending at mile marker 3 in Russell County, just across the Clinton – Russell County line, will be closed for the next two weeks as state road crews remove rocks from the embankment.
The removal of protruding rocks will increase sight distance and ensure motorist safety.
The southbound lane will be closed during the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (CST) each day. The northbound lane of US 127 will remain open, but traffic delays are likely. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to allow extra time in reaching their destination.
