The Clinton County Bulldogs picked up four wins this week including against Monroe County, Glasgow, Southwestern and Hopkins County Central, to move to 15-9 on the year.

Clinton County hosted Hopkins County Central in the second game of the Robbie Davis Memorial Classic on Saturday afternoon.
Both teams put up a ton of points during the game seeing Clinton County only seven shy of the century mark.
During the first quarter Hopkins County lived behind the three point line hitting eight total in the eight minute period.
The Dawgs stayed close early in the game, but the three pointers were racking up for Hopkins County and was too much for Clinton County to match.
Clinton County scored a respectable 19 points in the quarter, but by the time the quarter ended, Hopkins County led by 10 points, 29-19.
The second quarter saw the raining three pointers slow down for Hopkins County as the Storm only hit two for the entire period.
Even though it took the entire quarter, Clinton County started chipping away at the Storm’s lead.
The Dawgs outscored Hopkins County 23-15 in the second quarter and cut the lead to only two points by halftime, 44-42.
Hopkins County extended the lead to four points with basket in the opening minute of the third quarter, but a basket by Steele Burchett and a three pointer by Cohen Davis put the Dawgs up by one point, 47-46.
Hopkins County hit a three pointer to put the Storm back in the lead, 49-47, but a putback and a free throw by Nick Poore put the Dawgs up 50-49 with 6:38 on the clock.
From that point, the Dawgs started to pull away and take control of the game.
By the end of the third quarter, Clinton County had gained an eight point lead, 69-61.
During the fourth quarter, both teams scored at will with Clinton County putting up 24 fourth quarter points compared to Hopkins County’s 23 points.
Hopkins County’s three point shooting slowed down drastically during the second half, only hitting two of eight.
By the time the final buzzer sounded, Clinton County saw all five starters in double figures with the 93-84 win.

The Clinton County Bulldogs played Southwestern in its first game of the Robbie Davis Memorial Classic on Saturday and the game started off great for the Dawgs.
The game remained close until the 1:58 mark, up by five, 13-8, then Clinton County went on a 5-0 run to close out the quarter up by 10 points, 18-8.
Clinton County continued its run in the second quarter and put up 11 unanswered points for a 29-8 lead.
Southwestern scored a three pointer to cut the lead to 18, but a basket by Burchett put the Dawgs back up by 20 points, 31-11, with 5:24 on the clock.
By the end of the first half, Southwestern had cut into Clinton County’s lead and trailed by 16 at the half, 37-21.
Clinton County came out cold in the second half and allowed Southwestern to cut even more off it’s halftime lead.
During the third quarter, Clinton County only put up seven points to Southwestern’s 13. At the close of the third quarter, Clinton County led by 11, 44-33.
Southwestern started the fourth quarter with a 9-3 run to cut the lead to one point at the 2:42 mark, 47-46.
Burchett scored to put the Dawgs up by three, followed by a free throw from Cohen Davis and a basket by Cannon Young, 52-46.
Scrambling with less than a minute remaining in the game, Clinton County managed to put up six points, including a dunk by Burchett as the clock buzzer sounded to end the game.
Clinton County escaped with a victory over Southwestern, 58-50.

Clinton County traveled to Glasgow Thursday night to take on the Scotties in a very evenly matched game.
Glasgow started off with 4-0 run before Clinton County got on the board.
Clinton County put together a 7-2 run to take a one point lead on five points from Cohen Davis and a basket by Young, 7-6.
The Scotties came back with a basket at the 5:01 mark, but a field goal by Noah McCutchen put the Dawgs back up by one, 9-8.
With seven lead changes in the first quarter alone, Clinton County pulled ahead at the end of the period on a three pointer by Young with 14 seconds on the clock, 16-14.
From that point on, Clinton County remained in the driver’s seat, reaching a six point lead in the second quarter, 30-24, and finishing the half up by three, 32-29.
Clinton County came out in the second half and started the quarter with a 17-5 run to lead 49-34.
Glasgow finished the quarter with a 7-3 run to cut into the Dawgs’ lead, but Clinton County still remained in control, 52-43.
The fourth quarter saw both teams almost match each other point for point.
Clinton County ended up with 21 fourth quarter points while Glasgow finished the game with 20 points.
By the time the buzzer sounded, Clinton County held on to a 10 point victory, 73-63.

Monroe County 63
The Dawgs traveled to Monroe County last Tuesday, January 30, for the second regular season game of the season.
Clinton County has played Monroe County twice this year already, however, one of those games was during the All “A” Regional Tournament and didn’t figure into district seeding.
The Dawgs lost to Monroe County at The Castle on December 5, 61-55, and needed a district win to even up the score.
Both teams started out on an even scale as points went back and forth for the first four minutes of the game.
Monroe County cut the lead to two points at the 3:10 mark on a three pointer, 10-8, but then the Dawgs kicked into high gear and put together an 11-2 run to finish the quarter, 21-10.
During the second quarter, Monroe County fought its way back into the game and cut the Dawgs’ lead to two points at the 1:22 mark, 30-28.
With two seconds before halftime, Poore made a shot to end the half and send the Dawgs into the locker room with a four point cushion, 32-28.
Monroe County came out after halftime and cut the lead to one on a three pointer, 32-31, then the Dawgs took off and put together a 10-0 run to lead by 11, 42-31.
Monroe County dug in and fought its was back into the game and finished the third quarter trailing the Dawgs by six points, 51-45.
During the fourth quarter, the Dawgs held strong and got back up to an 11 point lead on a field goal by Drew Davis at the 4:19 mark, 61-50.
The Falcons would eventually cut the lead to three points, 65-62, with 1:34 remaining in the game, but the Dawgs found another gear and ended the game with a 10-1 run to take the victory, 75-63.

Clinton County will be back in action on Thursday with a road game to Somerset Christian and will travel to Cumberland County Sunday afternoon for a girls’/boys’ double header with the Lady Dawgs tipping off at 3 p.m.
