The Clinton County Lady Bulldogs spent most of the week on the hardwood playing four games in four straight days.
The first game came on the road at Adair County, where the Lady Dawgs picked up the lopsided win, 61-45.
On Wednesday, Clinton County finished up regular season district play by hosting Russell County. The Lady Dawgs fell to the Lady Lakers, 40-35, putting Clinton County into the number four seed in the district tournament.
Thursday night, Clinton County hosted Casey County and managed to pick up a 10 point victory, 54-44, to avenge a February 8 loss to the Lady Rebels.
Friday night, Clinton County traveled to Barren County to take on the Trojanettes. Clinton County fell 65-33, bringing its record to 10-18 on the year, with one more week of regular season play remaining.
The Lady Dawgs took the hardwood at The Castle on Monday night to play host to Somerset. Clinton County picked up its 11th win of the season, 60-43.

The Clinton County Lady Dawgs picked up a solid win Monday night, but the game didn’t start out in favor of the Lady Dawgs.
Somerset took an early lead in the first quarter going 6-0 to start the game.
The Lady Dawgs cut the lead to five points later in the quarter, but finished the first eight minutes down by six, 18-12.
The second quarter got a little better for Clinton County as shots began to fall.
Two free throws by Tatum Harlan and a field goal by Crista Thacker put the Lady Dawgs within two points, 18-16, in the first minute.
Somerset then went on a 6-2 run for a six point lead with 3:23 on the clock, 24-18.
By the time the buzzer sounded to end the period, Clinton County had managed to cut the lead to three points, 28-25.
The third quarter is when Clinton County began to pick things up on both ends of the floor.
At the 6:18 mark, Landree Moons took the lead from the foul line hitting two of two, 31-30.
By the end of the third, a putback by Abby Davis at the buzzer gave Clinton County a one point advantage heading into the final quarter, 39-38.
The fourth quarter is where things really took a nose dive for the Briar Jumpers as Clinton County continued to score. The Lady Dawgs put together a 10-1 run to take a 10 point lead at the 5:03 mark, 49-39.
The Lady Dawgs would end up scoring 11 more points in the period while holding Somerset to only four points for the remainder of the quarter. Clinton County picked up its 11th win of the season by a final score of, 60-43.

The Lady Bulldogs came out swinging on Friday night against Barren County as Landree Moons dropped in a short jumper, followed by a three pointer for a quick 5-0 lead.
Barren County would answer with an 8-2 run to take a one point lead, 8-7.
Clinton County fell further in the hole when Barren County hit a field goal to put the lead to three, 10-7.
Moons hit another three pointer to tie the score at 10 with 4:55 on the clock.
Barren County then put up six unanswered points to take a six point lead, 16-10.
Chloe Longwell and Moons combined to cut the lead to two points, but Barren County finished the quarter with two field goals of its own to take a six point first quarter lead, 20-14.
The second quarter didn’t fare well for the Lady Dawgs as Barren County took control of the game.
During the second quarter alone, Barren County scored 18 points compared to The Lady Dawgs’ seven to bring the halftime score to 38-21.
Both teams went cold from the floor in the second half of the third quarter, but Barren County managed to outscore Clinton County 11-5 in the period to take a 49-26 lead.
The fourth quarter saw Barren County extend its lead, while Clinton County continued to struggle on the offensive end of the floor.
By the time the final buzzer sounded, Clinton County came out on the losing end with a final score of 65-33.

Clinton County stayed at home on Thursday night as Casey County came in to town.
The Lady Dawgs had lost an earlier matchup between the two teams on February 8, by a final score of 59-52.
Thursday night’s game would turn out different for the Lady Dawgs.
The Lady Dawgs controlled the tip and it took a couple of trips before points would get on the board, but after a drive through the lane and a foul called on the Lady Rebels, Moons was sent to the foul line for two shots.
Her first shot was nothing but net, putting Clinton County on the board and making it the 2,000th career point for Moons.
Moons also drained the second free throw for a 2-0 lead.
The rest of the quarter was a struggle on offense for the Lady Dawgs.
Clinton County managed to only make two field goals in the quarter, one by Tatum Harlan and a three pointer by Makayla Moons. At the end of the first quarter, Clinton County trailed by four, 11-7.
The Lady Dawgs opened up the second quarter with a 7-0 run to take a 14-11 lead.
Casey County answered with a three pointer of its own to tie the score at 14.
The Lady Dawgs managed to finish the half with a 6-3 run to take a 20-17 lead at the break.
The Lady Rebels came out after halftime and tied the game at 20. Clinton County then put together a 10-2 run to take an eight point lead, 30-22.
Clinton County managed to reach an 11 point lead with 45 seconds remaining in the period on a putback by Lexi Messer, 36-25.
Casey County cut the lead to seven at the end of the third by making four free throws, 36-29.
The fourth quarter was almost even, but Clinton County did outscore the Lady Rebels 18-15.
By the time the clock ran out, Clinton County had avenged a loss, 54-44.

In order to finish the regular season district competition, Clinton County had to reschedule a game against Russell County for Wednesday night, of last week.
The first matchup between the two teams came on December 15, 2023, and ended in a lopsided victory for the Lady Lakers, 52-34.
Clinton County came out quickly trailing by two points as Russell County scored the first basket of the game.
Moons tied the score on a layup at the 7:17 mark, and Longwell took the lead on a layup, 4-2.
Russell County tied the score at four at the 4:26 mark, but Smith answered with a three pointer for a three point lead, 7-4, with 3:24 remaining in the period.
Russell County then hit a free throw and a three pointer on its next two possessions to take a one point lead, 8-7.
Moons finished the quarter with a layup to give the Lady Dawgs a one point advantage at the end of the first, 9-8.
The second quarter saw both teams battling for the win.
Russell County came out and took a one point lead right off the bat, but Smith nailed a three pointer to regain the lead for the Lady Dawgs, 12-10.
Both teams went back and forth for the remainder of the half and by the time the buzzer sounded to end the second quarter, Clinton County trailed by only two points, 19-17.
The Lady Lakers came out after halftime and tightened up its defense, allowing Clinton County to score only five points in the period.
During the eight minute period, Russell County was outscored 5-3 in the first six minutes, but finished the quarter with an 8-0 run to lead by eight, 30-22.
As the fourth quarter got underway, Clinton County made a run at the lead, cutting it to three points on a layup and a three pointer by Moons, 30-27.
Russell County then put together a 5-0 run of its own to work the clock down to the 3:30 mark with a 35-27 lead.
Clinton County tried to work its way back into the game, but Russell County was just too much in the end as the Lady Dawgs fell, 40-35, and moved to the number four seed in district play.
With Clinton County being the number four seed in the tournament, the Lady Dawgs will play in the play in game against Cumberland County on Sunday afternoon, February 25, at Russell County.

The Clinton County Lady Dawgs traveled to Columbia last week to take on Adair County.
Both teams were neck-in-neck throughout the first quarter, but Clinton County managed to get a one point advantage at the end of the first, 16-15.
During the second quarter, Clinton County saw scoring from Moons with 11, five off the bench from Messer, and two each from Thacker and Smith for a 20 point second quarter.
The Lady Dawgs held Adair County to 16 points in the period, to take a 36-31 lead into the locker room at the half.
It wasn’t until late in the third quarter when Clinton County really started to add distance between itself and the Lady Indians.
Most of Clinton County’s third quarter points came from Smith, who knocked down three three pointers in the period alone in order to put up 19 points for the Lady Dawgs.
Clinton County also held strong on defense in the third quarter, allowing Adair County to only score four points during the eight minutes of play.
At the end of the third, Clinton County had a 20 point lead, 55-35.
Even though Clinton County only scored six points in the final quarter, the damage had already been done as the Lady Dawgs cruised to victory, 61-45.

The Lady Dawgs played its final regular season game on Tuesday night (too late for press deadline) against Wayne County.
The Lady Dawgs will travel to Russell County Sunday afternoon to play in the first game of the 16th District Tournament against Cumberland County. Tip off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
Sadie Ipock grabbed a rebound and putback during Clinton County’s game against Russell County last week. Ipock finished the game with four points. The Lady Dawgs lost the contest, 40-35.
