With just over a month to go before the start of the 2024-25 high school basketball season, the Clinton County Lady Bulldogs basketball team is looking for a new head coach.
Without giving any details as to the circumstances surrounding the need for a new head coach, Clinton County Superintendent Wayne Ackerman released the following statement Monday afternoon to the Clinton County News:
“We currently have a vacant coaching position for our Clinton County Girls’ Basketball Team. We are in the process of selecting an interim head coach and hope to have someone in place by the end of the week. We appreciate your understanding as we work to find the right candidate to support our student athletes.”
Tim Moons had been serving as the head coach for the girls’ basketball program for the past three seasons and was approaching his fourth season as head coach of the Lady Bulldogs when word of the position opening was released Monday afternoon.
During his three-year tenure as head coach, Moons compiled a 39-58 win-loss record, advancing to the 4th Region Tournament twice, in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, both times as a 16th District Runner-Up.
No other details as to why the head coaching position became open at this late date, just before the start of the basketball season, were provided.
When personnell issues are involved, public agencies, such as school systems and government entities, are prevented from releasing many details due to privacy laws and restrictions.
The annual public introductions for the high school basketball program, “Meet The Bulldogs” is slated for Friday, November 22.
