Bulldogs finish district play with loss to Falcons
Our gridiron Bulldogs had a rough night Friday in the last outing of the season on Bulldog Field.
After a quick start, the Dawgs fell behind in the second half to District 3 front runner Monroe County, eventually losing the contest 42-28.
Clinton County enters this last week of regular season play with a 3-6 overall record and 1-2 against district opponents.
The win sent Monroe County into first place in district play with an unblemished 3-0 record against district opponents, 4-5 overall.
Metcalfe County will hold down the second seed from District 3 play with a 2-1 record against district opponents, 4-5 overall, while Green County is fourth among district opponents, going win-less at 0-3 against district opponents and a 2-7 season record.

Bulldogs to end regular season play at Berea
Just one more outing in regular season play for our Dawgs, with a road trip to Berea this Friday night to take on the 1A Berea Pirates.
Clinton County will be hoping for a win to advance its record on the season to 4-6 before entering the playoffs.  Berea is win-less on the season with a 0-9 season record going into Friday night’s game against the Dawgs.
The Pirates fell to Frankfort last Friday night, 41-6.

vs. Washington County in the playoff race
Although the regular season still has a week remaining before coming to an end, we do know our opponent in the first round of the KHSAA Football Playoffs.
The Dawgs will face the Washington County Commanders in the first round of the upcoming post-season playoffs, on Commanders Field in Springfield, Kentucky.
According to CCHS Athletic Director Darrell Thompson, the first round game against the Commanders will most likely be Friday, November 8.  Kickoff time will be announced later.
The Commanders ended regular season play last Friday night with a 52-7 loss at Lexington  Christian to close 2024 out with a 7-3 overall record.

Volley Dawgs end season at regional in opening round
The Volley Dawgs, after pulling their game together in last week’s District Tournament and advancing to the championship game before losing to Cumberland County, fell victim to 13th District Champions Logan County in the opening round of the 4th Region Tournament.
Despite the disappointment of having a season come to an end, Coach Josh Moons and his Volley Dawgs are to be congratulated on accomplishing the run in the District Tournament, adding a District Runner-Up piece of hardware to the CCHS trophy case, and earning the right to advance to the regional tournament level.
