The Clinton County Judicial Center Project Development Board (PDB) held its regular monthly meeting on May 16 with four of seven board members present.
Vice-Chairman Jake Staton, Clinton Circuit Clerk, chaired the meeting in the absence of Clinton County Judge/Executive Ricky Craig, the board’s chairman.
The only action taken made prior to adjournment was the approval of previous board minutes, following a motion by Jesse Stockton.
The board did, however, receive important updates from their architect representatives from Sherman Carter Barnhart, specifically giving some dates pertaining to the long-awaited Judicial Center project.
The PDB was informed the early site package will be sent to the project’s Construction Manager (CM), Codell Construction Management, by this Friday, May 30, with early site work beginning in late September. The final package will be delivered to the CM by August 4.
During a previous meeting with architects and construction management representatives, a hoped for time line to begin some type of work on the initial phase of the project was by mid-summer.
Bidding for the final package, it was noted, should begin October 7 and last approximately four weeks–or into early November.
The most positive news announced pertaining to the often delayed project work was the announcement that the second phase construction of the facility should begin by mid-December of this year, with the estimated construction completion date being September 2027.
The next regular meeting (which is tentative) of the Judicial Center PDB is scheduled for Friday, June 20, at 8 a.m. The meetings are held in the upstairs courtroom of the courthouse and are open to the public.
