Students and faculty at Clinton County Area Technology Center are celebrating Career and Technical Education Month. This month-long celebration recognizes the importance of CTE across the state of Kentucky and across the country. This year’s national theme for the month-long celebration is CTE: Careers .

Through Education. Mayor Nicky Smith visited the school on Friday, February 3, 2012 and signed a proclamation designating February 5-11, 2012 as Career and Technical Education Week.

CTE is a broad-based, innovative system of education that is focused on helping students become College and Career Ready! CTE Career Pathways offer students sequential learning in career and technical areas in demand, opportunities to earn industry certifications, and the potential to earn college credit while still in high school.

Students enrolled in CTE programs of study have the advantage of learning in a project-based environment focused on advancing their technical skills while preparing for the demands of the 21st century workplace – one that requires high levels of problem-solving, project management, research, communication, and use of current technology.

In Kentucky, CTE provides students with the academic knowledge and essential technical skills to jump-start their future career.

Kentucky Tech-Clinton County Area Technology Center currently offers six Career Pathways for students in grades 9-12 at Clinton County High School and Cumberland County High School.
