VA Rep available

Veterans and their families seeking benefits in south central Kentucky will now be able to find help and advice at a central location. Gary Jones, the Veterans Benefits Field Representative for Clinton and surrounding counties, will be in Glasgow at 126 E. Public Square, Lower Level, every day except for the first Tuesday, second Monday, second Tuesday, second Thursday and third Monday of each month. Veterans can schedule an appointment by phoning 270-651-9578 or toll free at 800-850-1392.

SODA meetings

The support group, SODA (Survivors of Domestic Violence), meets every Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Clinton County Health Department. For more information call 1-800-755-2017.

Narcotics Anonymous

Narcotics Anonymous group meets each Monday and Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Albany. These meetings are open to anyone wanting to address their drug and alcohol problems.

VA officer available

Veterans Service Officer Earl Claborn is available to help veterans and their families with VA benefits. The office is located in the Clinton County Community Center. Office hours are Monday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information call 606-387-9447.

AA / Al-Anon meetings

AA and Al-Anon will be meeting each Thursday and Saturday night at 7 p.m. in the basement of the First Christian Church.

Chamber of Commerce
to meet

The Albany – Clinton County Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly membership luncheon meeting Thursday, February 9, at 12:00 noon, at the Monticello Banking Company location in Albany.

Members attending will be provided a complimentary lunch and topics to be discussed during the meeting will include the Shop At Home promotion and the proposed tourism promotion book.

Cupid’s Sweetheart Pageant

Clinton County Care and Rehab Center will present Cupid’s Sweetheart Pageant Friday, February 10 at 6 p.m. at the Clinton County Community Center for ages 0-9 and 10 year girls and 0 to 7-8 year boys. Couples are 4-5, 6-7 and 8-9 divisions. Entry fee is $20 per participant and $40 per couple, with $5 extra for Most Photogenic. Admission is $2. Contestants will be judged on attire, personality and overall performance. Pre-registration is available at the rehab facility, with entry fee due at the time of registration. The Clinton County Industrial Development Authority will hold its regular meeting Thursday, February 9 at 11 a.m. at the IDA-Welcome Center. The meeting is open to the general public. 16-2

Graduate class for diabetes
at health department

An advanced diabetes graduate class for individuals who have completed the four class series, will be held Wednesday, February 15 from 1-2 p.m. at the Clinton County Health Department. To pre-register call 606-387-5711, ext. 1166.

Beekeepers to meet

The Twin Lakes Beekeepers Association will meet Thursday, February 9 at 7 p.m. in the Extension Office. Those interested in beekeeping are welcome.

Clinton County Board of Education will hold its monthly meeting Monday, February 13 at 5 p.m. at the Central Office. The meeting is open to the general public.

Fiscal Court meeting

Clinton County Fiscal Court will hold its regular monthly meeting Thursday, February 16 at 5 p.m. at the judge/executive’s office. The meeting is open to the public. 17-2

Workforce Investment Board to meet

There will be a Workforce Investment Board meeting Tuesday, February 21 at 10 a.m. Central Time in the large conference room at the Lake Cumberland Area Development District offices in Russell Springs. 17-2

Little Hearts of the

Foothills Pageant

The Foothills Festival Committee will have a Valentine’s Baby Show Saturday, February 11 at 10 a.m. at the Clinton County High School gym. This baby show is open to out of county as well as Clinton County residents. Applications can be picked up at the Klassic Shop or City Florist until Friday at 3:30 p.m. Entry fee will be $10 until that time. Registration will begin Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and end when the baby show starts at 10 a.m. Entry fee Saturday will be $15 per person. Dress will be Sunday wear.

Age divisions will be boys and girls: 0-6, 7-11 months, one year, two year, three year, and four-year olds. The four-year old age group will be Tiny Miss and Mister and must enter as a couple. Numbers will be assigned at registration.
