The search continues for Brandon Tyler Crain, who went missing Thursday, January 26 from his mother’s apartment in Munfordville.
On Saturday, his sister, Vanessa Moldon of Horse Cave, called a press conference in Munfordville at the apartment complex on Center Street, from which Brandon disappeared. She told representatives from The Hart County News-Herald, The Bowling Green-Daily News and WBKO television she and the family were “ready for closure” regardless of how it comes out.
Moldon, her good friend, Rhonda Bailey, and Brandon’s aunt, Wanda Collins, filled in more details on the subject of a huge search effort.
Moldon said Brandon had an argument with a friend on Wednesday night at the Bolton Schoolhouse Missionary Baptist Church, which he attended. She said he called his mother to come get him and he went to her apartment. His aunt said that about 2 a.m. his aunt heard him leave the apartment. When he didn’t show up by Thursday, his mother reported him missing at the Hart County Sheriff’s Office.
Moldon said Brandon had his “ups and downs.” She said he was bullied in school from the third grade on and quit after his freshman year. He earned a GED. She said he was the type of person who loaned money to friends and even loaned his car. She said the argument he had with a friend may have been about the car he had loaned the friend.
Holdon said Brandon, at one point in his life, shot himself, but the way he explained it to her, the shooting was an accident. She said Brandon was analyzed and found to not be suicidal. He was under the care of LifeSkills and was seeking Christian counseling, she said.
“I believe someone called him out. He wouldn’t just go out on his own,” his sister said.
Efforts continued to search the river on Saturday with the Hart County Rescue Squad and Edmonton County Rescue Squad joining forces. This made the third time the Hard County Rescue Squad had been on the scene.
EMS Director Kerry McDaniel said the Civil Air Patrol had searched from the air on Monday and the State Police helicopter had searched on Tuesday of last week.
Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Crain is asked to call the Hart County Sheriff’s Office at 270-524-2341 or the Kentucky State Police at 911.
