Rema G. Mathews Pittman, 81, New Castle, IN and a native of Albany, passed away Monday, February 6, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Willie Edd and Daisy Cowan Mathews and wife of the late Joe Pittman. She is also preceded in death by her son, Ira Joe Pittman, a grandson, JJ Pittman, and a brother, Cordell Mathews.

She is survived by a daughter, Denise (Albert) Hyden, New Castle, IN; a son, Cecil “Birdman” Pittman; two brothers, Richard and Carl Mathews, Albany, KY; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a step-granddaughter and four step-great grandchild.

Funeral services were held Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Campbell-New Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Byrd officiating. Final resting place at Hillcrest Cemetery. Arrangements made through Campbell-New Funeral Home.
