To the Editor,

I am writing to commend the volunteers of the Albany Fire Department for the great job they do. They willingly put themselves in harms way to help others and often without so much as a thank you.

This week I suffered a loss by fire that was caused by a lightning strike. But had it not been for these men’s swift actions it would have been much worse. I was surprised at how quickly they arrived at the scene and was amazed at how quickly they got the blaze under control. With great diligence they strove to save my personal property. It was a well coordinated effort on their part. Behind such skill, I know much training is required of these men, in which, they must freely give their time and energy. I commend them for this and give a most heart- felt thank you to all such men who are willing to volunteer their time and put themselves in jeopardy.

I also want to thank all the good folks of the Green Grove community for their concerns, thoughts and prayers. We are truly blessed to live in a place that has such caring neighbors.

Thanks to all,

Matt, Tracy, Ben
and Nathaniel Foster
