It’s finally official. CVS Pharmacy has closed the deal to build a new store in Columbia. The new facility will be built at the junction of Jamestown Street and Russell Road (KY 55 S and KY 80 E).
The deeds to the properties were transferred to CVS a week ago Friday and the previous property owners were paid. The properties purchased for the new 13,325 square foot pharmacy included Central Kentucky Realty and Auction, Movie Warehouse, the Grider Properties building, which housed some small businesses on Russell Road adjacent to Central Kentucky Realty, and the small building on Jamestown Street owned by Vicki Pike which had housed a cell phone store.
Morgan Construction Company from Tennessee has the contract to build the new pharmacy. According to sources, the new facility should be completed in July.
