Duvall acquitted on drug charges in jury trial

A Clinton County man has been found not guilty on drug related charges by a Clinton County Circuit Court jury.

Joey Duvall was tried in Circuit Court on Monday, March 26 on charges of first degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), first offense and possession of drug paraphernalia, second or subsequent offense.

A jury was empaneled and subsequently heard testimony, and viewed exhibits in the case during the one-day trial.

Following summations by the prosecution and defense, the jury received instructions and after deliberating in the guilt/innocence phase of the trial returned a verdict of not guilty on both charges of possession of a controlled substance (meth) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The defendant was represented by Burkesville attorney Angie Capps and the case was prosecuted by Commonwealth Attorney Jesse Stockton, Jr.
