Jordan Paige Sawyers, a senior with the Department of Sociology and Political Science at Tennessee Tech. University, was invited to Atlanta, Georgia February 25-26th to present her undergraduate research, “You’re a Boy, Not a Princess, A Qualitative Study of Gender Role Learning Influenced by Caregiver Attitudes and Toy Selection” which she conducted to fulfill curriculum requirements in the Fall of 2011 at TTU.

Sawyers met up with over 50 undergraduate researchers from all over the South and Southeastern area at Emory University’s annual SEUSS (South Eastern Undergraduate Sociology Symposium) to present their hard work and to help guide one another for further research.

Sawyers is the daughter of Jimmy Sawyer and Sandi Boils.
