Lonzo Smith, 61, Albany, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012 at his residence. He was the son of the late Rubin and Ostie Kennedy Smith, was of the Methodist faith, and an avid businessman who operated Smith’s Taxi Service and S and W Auto Parts. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Jewell Smith, Albany; two daughters, Lisa (James) Davis, Albany; Crystal (Brian) Buck, London, KY; a son, Roger Smith, Albany; five sisters, Georgie Reynolds, Byrdstown, TN; Oralee Starnes, Elgie Barnes, Connie Duvall and Teresa Scroggins, all of Albany; three brothers, Lloyd “Hack,” Ricky and Tony Smith, all of Albany; six grandchildren, Dakota Smith, Jessica and Jeffrey Brown, Nicole, Tyler and Dylan Davis; a great-grandchild, Kayden Davis; also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Campbell-New Funeral Home with Bro. Melvin Daniel and Bro. Alvin Sells officiating. Final resting place in Davis Chapel Cemetery.
