Pickett County Sheriff’s Deputies have recently arrested and charged five people for manufacturing methamphetamine.

On Friday, March 16, Deputy Brandon Koger stopped a vehicle for a seat belt violation. The driver, Robert Smith, 29, of Clarkrange and passenger, William Webb, 31, of Jamestown, appeared to be impaired. After the consent to search, Deputy Koger, along with Chief Deputy Steve Wilbur, searched the vehicle and found items that were used to manufacture methamphetamine.

South was charged with Promotion of Manufacture Methamphetamine and DUI. Webb was charged with Promotion of Manufacture Methamphetamine and Public Intoxication.

On Thursday, March 22, after an investigation of possible drug activity, Sheriff Dana Dowdy, Chief Deputy Steve Wilbur, Deputy Malcolm Johnson, Deputy Mike Worley, and Meth Task Officer Elbert Conner went to a residence at the Circle View Apartments. Upon entering the apartment, there was enough observed evidence of a working meth lab and two small children present, to arrest the three occupants.

Melissa Gross, 45, 313 Circle View Apartments, was charged with two counts of Child Endangerment, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Manufacturing Methamphetamine, and Possession of Schedule VI. Tabitha Dishman, 25, of Albany, was charged with two counts of Child Endangerment, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Manufacturing Methamphetamine. John H. Brown, 32, of Albany, was charged with two counts of Child Endangerment, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Manufacturing Methamphetamine.
