The Clinton County Tennis teams took the court last week.
Both teams traveled to Russellville to compete in the LCR Invitational on Saturday, April 14.
On the girls side, Hailey Neal made it to the semi-finals in the singles division before being put out by University Heights’ Blake Meade, 6-0, 6-0.
Bianca Soma won the consolation bracket by defeating Sydney Mims and Sydney Anderson.
In the girls’ doubles competition, Laura Groce and Kiley Hoppe was defeated in the first round of the tournament.
In the boys singles competition, Jordan Vincent and Kolby Smith both made it to the finals for a Clinton vs Clinton final.
Vincent won the match by a final of 7-6, and 6-1.
In doubles competition, Glen England and Haley Matthews made it to the finals, but were defeated by a team from Logan County, 7-6 and 6-3.
On Tuesday, April 17, Clinton County traveled to Cumberland County to take on the Panthers.
For the girls, Clinton County’s Soma, and Neal picked up two wins, while Soma lost one match, as well as Abby Craig falling, 6-1.
In doubles competition, the team of Rachel Claborn and Ashley Harper won 6-3, Groce/Hoppe won 6-3 and Alissa Cook/Katie Huff won 6-1.
Groce/Hoppe played another match in which they lost, 6-5, as well as another match from Claborn/Harper, 6-2.
On the boys side, Clinton County picked up seven wins and recorded only one loss for the match.
In singles play, Smith, Christopher Cox, Zach McFall, Clay Choate and Matt Savage all picked up wins.
In doubles play, the team of Choate and Smith won 7-6 and the team of Jared Hunter and Matthew Hunter defeated their opponents 6-1.
The only loss for Clinton County came with the team of England and Matthews, 7-5.
