The Clinton County Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs played host to Logan County Saturday night at the Lindle Castle Gymnasium, but for many in the stands, basketball was the second reason for attending that night.

It was Coaches Against Cancer night Saturday, January 29, and the Clinton County coaches, along with players, sported the color purple to symbolize the fight against cancer. Even the three officials working the two games got in on the act, using pink whistles to symbolize their recognition of the special night.

Between games, cancer survivors were recognized during a ceremony in front of a large crowd of basketball fans.

In the top photo, young cancer survivor Jaelyn Moreland was eager to get her rose and medal from boys’ team member Wayne Stearns and Lady Bulldog member Keistan Dalton.

At left, several cancer survivors as well as those honoring cancer survivors were present during the in-between game Cancer Survivor Ceremony sponsored by the American Cancer Relay For Life Albany Chapter.
