The National Day of Prayer event was held Thursday, May, 3, 2012 at its alternate location, the Clinton County Learning Center, due to weather conditions.

The event is usually held on the Courthouse square, but was moved indoors when rained threatened the event.

This year’s NDP concentrated on local government officials and first responders, honoring them for the effort they put forth to lead and take care of the community.

NDP Coordinator Tiffany Peters welcomed the crowd after the Clinton County High School presented the colors and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

CCHS student Frank England presented the opening prayer for the event and as shown in the photo below right, local Christian band Rising Son Ministries performed several songs for the crowd.

In the photo left, Peters stood with Saundra Poore as she led the Prayer for the Nation.

This year’s seven points of prayer/seven days a week focused on government, military, media, business/economy, education, church and family.
